Overview
Summer Nurse Externs are provided an opportunity to become immersed in a health care environment by: working directly with a preceptor in providing direct patient care, practicing clinical skills under the direction of a preceptor, attending education sessions, observing in specialty areas and preparing a project beneficial to the student's assigned unit. Demonstrates a commitment to providing safe and effective care.

Responsibilities
- Provides patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse.
- Attends classroom sessions, prepares and presents an education or quality based project.
- Observes in specialty areas of choice.
- Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
Qualifications
- HS diploma or equivalent Completion of at least one clinical rotation and current enrollment in an accredited ADN or BSN program and No Experience necessary / On-the-Job Training on-the-job training

Starting Pay
Our pay ranges are market competitive. The pay range for this job begins at $17.15/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home
This position is not eligible to work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
