University Behavioral Health of Denton is a private freestanding psychiatric hospital specializing in mental health and chemical dependency care. Job Duties/Responsibilities:
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) is responsible for the clinical practice of nursing which includes assisting the CNO in directing all services provided by the Nursing Services Department. As a member of departmental management this position ensures the development, implementation and evaluation of policies, programs and services consistent with the facility's goals and objectives, and actively participates in a leadership role by consulting with facility management in designing and providing patient care and services and provides an adequate staffing pattern to meet patient needs, based on patient census and as determined by the patient acuity system. The ACNO will collaborate with the CNO and the Staffing Coordinator to determine staffing needs per shift and unit. The ACNO will be a part of the Senior Leadership team and will be in the on-call rotation for the Administrator on Call. The ACNO will provide oversight for all nursing department training and staff development.
- Co-directs the provision of 24-hour nursing services for the facility.
- Assists CNO in the development, implementation, and revision of facility Nursing Services policies and procedures within the guidelines of the Medical Staff Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the facility.
- Assists CNO in the review of the progress, quality and effectiveness of all nursing programs.
- Assists CNO in the establishment of methods for evaluating nursing care practices, formulate plans for new programs and changes to existing programs, and initiates and/or utilizes studies and research applicable to the development of nursing services

Qualifications Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited school of nursing with both psychiatric and med surge experience preferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2-4 year’s experience in nursing administration and/or strong dedicated leadership experience in psychiatric nursing.
Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in Texas.
Additional Requirements: A thorough knowledge of TJC, CMS, TDH, OSHA regulations and all other state and federal regulatory standards.
