Position Summary
This position provides direct patient care and education for patients receiving research treatments, examinations, surgeries, etc., in a medical office according to established procedures. This position requires a 12-hour work shift from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM.
Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain research records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
- Consult with team members of the research care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal participant outcomes.
- Provide appropriate counsel and education to participant/family regarding study visit.
- Use professional nursing judgment when conducting nursing research activities to participants.
- Perform procedures and/or administer Investigational Drugs in strict compliance to the study protocol, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's), and other state and local regulations as applicable.
- Oversee and monitor the well-being and safety of study participants.
- Provide clear and comprehensive documentation of study visit activities while adhering to the study protocol.
- Operate and maintain research equipment according to departmental policy.
- Perform study defined procedures and assessments, including, but not limited to, vital signs, IV placement, drug administration, lab collection, lab processing, phlebotomy, electrocardiograms, etc., in strict compliance with the study protocol.
- Utilize evidence-based practice methods to improve participant care and study conduct.
- Able to be flexible with daily assignments including work locations.
- Work proficiently both in a team environment and independently, with minimal supervision.
- Daily use of computer and Microsoft Office applications such as Outlook email, Word, and Excel.
- Develop flowsheets for data collection per protocol study visit
- Participate in start-up meetings with study teams. Professional contributions, including presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, local, regional or national professional organization leadership roles.
- Demonstrate cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment.
- Adhere to unit policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities.

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable.
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
- Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy).

Salary Range
$60,800.00 - $105,700.00 / AnnuallyThe salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
