Registered Nurses with more than one year of experience are eligible to receive a sign on bonus up to $25,000 with a two year commitment to remain with ANTHC. A separate bonus of up to $15,000 may be provided for relocation to Anchorage, Alaska. Bonuses are paid in one lump sum directly after the first full pay period after the first day of employment (bonus paid the first full pay period following the first day of employment as a lump sum minus applicable payroll withholdings).

Summary
Provides professional nursing services to accomplish the individual patient plan of care; independently and consistently using the nursing process to safely, therapeutically, and efficiently care for a full assignment of patients with subtle and sometimes unidentified needs. Supports the operations of the Alaska Native Medical Center and programs.
Responsibilities
Evaluates one’s own nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and relevant statutes and regulations, identifying short and long term professional goals.
Utilizes the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice and the Code of Ethics for Nurses with Interpretive Statements as the foundation for nursing practice.
Interacts with and contributes to the professional development of peers and others practicing in a Shared Governance model of nursing practice.
Makes decisions and takes actions on behalf of patients are determined in an ethical manner, and care is delivered in a nonjudgmental and nondiscriminatory manner that is sensitive to patient diversity preserving patient autonomy, dignity, and rights.
Collaborates with the patient, family, and other health care providers in the formation of overall goals and the plan of care, as well as in decisions related to care and the delivery of services.

MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATION
An Associates Degree in Nursing. Equivalent knowledge, experience, education, or training may be substituted for education. Must have participated in 30 hours every 2 years continuing education in nursing in general, 16 of which are in the specific area of practice.

MINIMUM CERTIFICATION QUALIFICATION
- Current registered nurse license in the State of Alaska.
- Current Basic Life Support card required.
- All other certifications as required for specific work area : New Employees must obtain the requiredcertificationswithin six months of hire; New graduates mustobtain therequiredcertificationswithin 18 months of hire; Contract and MOA employees must come to us with the required training completed as outlined in their individual contracts/MOAs, and mustbe licensed as a registered nurse by the State of Alaska and remain active with all annual licensing requirements.
