Position Responsibilities:

·Adheres to and complies with all regulatory standards globally to profession and specific to unit.

·Understands all new physician orders must be implemented within two hours of initiation for routine and within 30 minutes or less for stat.

·Understands and is able to prepare patient for invasive and / or noninvasive medical procedures ensuring universal protocol compliance.

·Understands and is able to administer medication per physician’s orders adhering to the hospital approved patient identifiers, following the 5 rights of patient medication administration.

·Utilizes chain of command to communicate changes in patient condition and initiate timely interventions to prevent negative patient outcomes.

·Maintains current licensure and annual competencies as specific to assignment, always keeping written evidence on file.

·Understands the procedures to ensure continuity of patient profile/kardex and/or procedure preference cards or other unit specific tools, in a timely manner. Assures continuity of patient care assessment and reassessment as per policy.

Qualifications:

·Licensure/Registration/Certification: State of Florida RN License; Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider Certification; Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certification within 1 year of employment.

·Experience: 1 year medical/surgical nursing experience; minimum 1 year psychiatric nursing experience; knowledge of computer and basic programs.
