About the Job:

The Certified Oncology Infusion Registered Nurse provides holistic patient care to high risk, complex acutely and chronically ill oncology and hematology patients in the outpatient setting.

What You’ll Do:

Utilize the nursing process and in collaboration with providers (physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, etc.) provide comprehensive patient-centered care across the cancer care continuum, employment multiple treatment modalities.
Utilize the nursing process, evaluate the needs of patients and their caregivers, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary oncology special and Medical Home teams to develop an appropriate plan of care.
Perform pre-visit planning and care coordination to ensure that all consults, testing, patient education and procedures are completed in a timely manner prior to the initiation of cancer treatment.
Restore and promote health and wellness by providing patient and caregiver education on self-management support activities, medication, nutrition, and appropriate health screenings based on the plan of care developed in collaboration with the cancer team.
Apply basic knowledge of cancer biology, treatment modalities and symptom management and provide safe delivery of chemotherapy and immunotherapy agents with direction as needed.
Report occurrences utilizing the electronic occurrence reporting system.
Check and respond to email communication daily.

Who You Are:

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing (ADN or BSN)
Registered Nurse, licensed in the state of NH
ONS Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy certified
A minimum of one-two years of med/surg, critical care and/or hematology/oncology experience (ambulatory/inpatient) required.
Obtain ONCCC Oncology Certification (OCN) within two (2) years of hire.
