I. Major Responsibilities:
1. In collaboration with Manager Ambulatory Operations, directs and supervises assigned personnel including performance evaluations, scheduling, orientation, and training. Makes recommendations on employee hires, transfers, promotions, salary changes, discipline, terminations, and similar actions. Participates and contributes to any required documentation regarding these activities. Resolves grievances and other personnel problems within position responsibilities.
2. Monitors workflow and productivity to evaluate clerical and clinic support staff performance. Takes corrective action to ensure the efficient and effective workflow. Works closely with Manager Ambulatory Operations regarding the training and development of clinical staff. Participates in providing non-clinical office staff the clinical knowledge required to enhance their individual roles. Provides daily assurance that all areas are properly staffed with clinical support staff (Patient Care Associates, Medical Assistants and / or Licensed Practical Nurses) that are trained for a particular area. Changes work assignments as needed in order to assure an optimal workflow.
3. Directs patient care activities. Assesses patient flow. Is able to read and adapt to subtle changes in patient flow. Develops and maintains systems and processes to assure efficient flow. Able to provide direction to the staff in times of unanticipated provider changes. Able to articulate a plan, taking into consideration patient acuity, staffing ratios and budgetary constraints.
4. Performs and or delegates patient treatments. Documents patient care. Works closely with clinical support staff to develop and improve documentation in the medical records. Develops and implements educational plans for patients/families.
5. Addresses phone encounters and executes appropriate follow through. Acts as a mentor/role model to all clinic staff with regard to the gathering of information during the phone encounter process; with the ultimate goal of a comprehensive and thorough intake to pass along to the provider for further recommendations.

Required:
1. Current State of Massachusetts LPN license.
Experience/Skill:
Required:
1. Minimum of five (5) years of medical office LPN experience.
2. Demonstrated Leadership experience.
3. Ability to coordinate and organize multiple functions and activities in an ambulatory setting.
4. Must have excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with all levels of management, patients, and staff.
5. Excellent organizational and analytical/problem-solving skills.
Unless certification, licensure or registration is required, an equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed in this description may be substituted for the above requirements.
