Status: Part Time

Shift: 3:00PM - 11:00PM

Job Summary: The Nurse Intern is responsible for assisting in direct patient care of all age groups, specific to the unit assigned; assisting with patient transfers, repositioning, transporting of patients, supplies, or specimens; and any other duties necessary to ensure optimal patient care under the direction and supervision of the professional nurse. In addition to the duties assigned to a Patient Care Technician, the Nurse Intern can complete the additional tasks of wet-to-dry and sterile dressing changes, insertion and removal of Foley Catheters, administration of routine screening tests/immunizations, removal of intravenous catheter, administration of routine oral, intramuscular, rectal, topical, or subcutaneous medications, and documentation of these procedures and medication administration. The Nurse Intern reports to nursing leadership staff.

Qualifications:

Education: currently attending an accredited school of nursing (LPN, ADN or BSN) with successful completion of coursework in pharmacology, medication administration, and nursing fundamentals.
Experience: no experience required. On the Job training
Licenses/Certifications: Must maintain current BLS certification
