Registered Nurse (RN), Home Health RN for LA/OC County, Part time, days (**For internal employee only)

Provides direct nursing care including assessments, care plan, education, and evaluation for assigned patients. Performs patient duties necessary to maintain the flow of patient care as well as coordinates the delivery of care provided by other care team members and disciplines.

Knowledge in the legal aspects of nursing.
Knowledge and demonstrated skill using special equipment such as monitors, oxygen equipment, SPO2 monitors, EKG machines, defibrillators, etc.
Honest, dependable, conscientious.

Clinical Operations Only

Principles of patient/family teaching.
With consideration of age, utilize the approved process to resolve biophysical, psychological, educational, and environmental needs of the patient/family when administering care.
Accuracy in maintaining medical records.
Strong computer skills.
Honest, dependable, conscientious.
Is alert to cues on the phone when assessment is limited to auditory, verbal and emotional cues.
Possess the ability to communicate effectively on a level that is easily understandable by the patient.

Emergency Department Only (Whittier)

Demonstrates fluency in English communication, to include reading, writing, and verbal communication.
Basic organizational skills to include ability to follow directions as outlined in policies or given by supervisor.
Basic EKG interpretation

Emergency Department Only (Downey)

Demonstrates fluency in English communication, to include reading, writing, and verbal communication.

Hematology/Oncology Only

Excellent verbal and written skills.
Knowledge of medical terminology, infection control and safety.
Thorough knowledge of chemo therapy regimens and pharmaceuticals for treatment.
Expansive knowledge of hematology/oncology processes and practices.
Current CPR certification.
Superb understanding of nursing principles.
Excellent understanding of patient/family teaching principles.
Knowledge of Electronic Health Records(EHR) computerized practice management systems and other computerized systems (Microsoft office programs and electronic health records systems)
Ability to prioritize and problem solve both independently and with a team.
Excellent communication skills, bilingual in Spanish or Chinese helpful.

Maternal Child Care Only

Ability to maintain flexibility and adapt to changes.
Basic computer skills.

Wound Healing Center Only

Demonstrates good interpersonal skills with patients, staff and physicians.
Professional and appropriate in communicating with staff, physicians, patients and visitors.
Knowledge of age-appropriate adult learning principles and the ability to teach and develop an effective patient education program.
Knowledge of general nursing theory and practice including but not limited to asepsis and sterile-technique principle of body mechanics, medication administration.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with interruptions and varied work demands.
Ability to plan and organize workload.

Home Health Only

Establish positive and professional relationships with patients, families, staff, and physicians.
Demonstrate quality nursing clinical practice while meeting time-sensitive deadlines.
Knowledge and ability to apply the nursing process while developing an individualized patient plan of care.
Able to demonstrate clinical nursing expertise in the establishment of peripheral intravenous lines and administration of intravenous therapies.
Computer skills and ability to navigate an electronic health record.

Required Experience

Valid California RN License with evidence of continuing education 30 units per two years
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Non-violent crisis intervention training annually

Emergency Department Only (Downey)

Required:

Valid California RN License
Prior experience in an acute care facility
BLS, ACLS, PALS, and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
Non-violent crisis intervention training annually or completion within 90 days of hire
Completion of Emergency Nursing Course within 90 days of hire
Completion of pediatric specific continuing education (16 hours) every two years in compliance with EDAP certification

Preferred:

Basic computer skills
Prior Emergency Nursing experience preferred
Completion of NRP and S.T.A.B.L.E. class

Hematology/Oncology Only

Required:

Current California RN license
BLS certification
Minimum 2 years Oncology experience in hospital and or office based setting required.

Preferred:

Current chemotherapy preferred
OCN preferred

Maternal Child Care Only

Required:

Current California RN license
Evidence of continuing education
Prior experience in an acute care facility or formal classroom education in Maternal-Child
Care as appropriate for clinical specialty
Current AFM, ACLS, CPR and NRP care as appropriate for clinical specialty

NICU Only

Required:

Current California RN license
Current BLS and NRP care as appropriate for clinical specialty

Radiation Oncology Only

Required:

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science Degree and have a current CA RN license.
BLS certification from the American Heart Association required.

Preferred:

Baccalaureate degree in nursing.
Previous Radiation Oncology nursing experience.
One year experience in the care of oncology patients.
Spanish bilingual skills to communicate effective with patients and families.
Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred.

Wound Healing Center Only

Required:

Registered nurse with current California license in good standing.
Two years experience in acute care nursing helpful.
Experience in ambulatory care setting highly desirable.
CPR certified.

Preferred:

Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred.

Home Health Only

Current California license as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
A minimum of one year experience as a professional nurse, preferably in an acute care facility.
BSN referred.
Current CPR card
Current California driver's license and valid auto insurance.
Home Health experience preferred.

Podiatry:

Required:

Current California RN license.
Evidence of continuing education.
Current Basic Life Support Card.
Prior experience in an acute care facility or formal classroom education.
Certification in foot care (CFCS) Certified Foot Care Specialists within 6 months of employment.

Preferred:

BSN/MSN preferred.
