The Inter-organizational Education Manager will oversee the development of an inter-organizational collaboration between Cayuga Health System and regional educational entities. This collaboration will harmonize clinical and didactic training across institutions and facilitate the development and utilization of educators at CHS that can support educational content delivery at regional organizations. This individual will identify partners' programmatic needs and coordinate program-to-program support. This may require coordinating the timing and seasonality of program offerings to deconflict programs
competing for scarce resources (such as clinical space and faculty). They will identify areas of resource scarcity and excess across partners and facilitate efficient sharing of resources, inter-institutional
cooperation, and purposefulness of educational offerings.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Direct patient care and assessment; relationship-based care through customer service rounding.
- Completes reports and statistics as requested by the Practice Manager.
- Assists in the development and implementation of policies and procedures with practice manager.
- Plans, controls, directs and coordinates clinical duties to ensure the functioning of the department and staff
- Schedules and assigns staff to increase efficiency and coordination of department staff according to standards; delegates specific duties and tasks
- Provides orientation for new staff members.
- Ensures that all clinical staff are trained in core competencies for their position.
- Plans and conducts monthly staff meetings. Allows staff to participate in problem solving.
- Provides for professional growth and development of patient care staff through identification of needs, sponsoring training programs, encouraging education (formal and continuing)
- Participates in interviews and hiring process for clinical personnel
- 4 10 hour shift days will cover M-F 9am-9pm, Sat & Sum 8a-6p with rotating weekends
Required Skills and Experience
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- 1 year of nursing experience
- Currently licensed in the State of New York as a Registered Professional Nurse
- Bachelor's degree with 2 or more years of healthcare experience
- Clinical background is a plus
- Demonstrated ability to build rapport with staff and hospital leaders
Preferred Skills and Experience:
- BLS upon hire, ACLS and PALS completed by end of orientation
Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g., use of computer keyboard); may require lifting and carrying light loads (up to 40 lbs), including boxes, equipment, IV solutions and stooping and kneeling (e.g., to pick up items from the floor, to remove and replace items on lower shelves and to file documents in lower file drawers); sitting, walking, or standing for long periods of time may be necessary; must be able physically to operate the equipment used for the job.

- $79,040 to $93,600 per year
