Responsible for assisting clinicians in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of the physician.

How you will make an impact:

Provides front and/or back-office support.
Greets patients in a friendly, service-oriented manner in compliance with Care Center (CCC) or Medical Group Practice protocols and workflows.
Oversees patient check in by ensuring medical records/charts have been pulled, patient data is current, appropriate paperwork is in order, and charts are reviewed/prepared. Interviews patient, measures vital signs and records reason for visit.
Explains procedures, performs treatments, and administers prescribed medication.
Oversees patient check out by scheduling follow up appointments, collecting co-payment if applicable, ensuring paperwork is complete.
Schedules and confirms patient appointments.
Reconciles co-payments at the end of each day.

Requires

H.S. diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 2 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.
Requires an active, current and valid Medical Assistant certification.
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) may be required.

For Carelon Health business unit, satisfactory completion of a Tuberculosis test is a requirement for this position.

For Simply Health business unit, phlebotomy background strongly preferred.

PMF associates (and vendor partners) must be vaccinated against COVID-19 and Influenza and maintain up-to-date vaccination status as defined by the CDC during the duration of their employment. This means that most PMF associates (except those in Florida and Texas and those who have been granted a reasonable accommodation on grounds of disability, religion or some other state-recognized exception) are required to receive each year’s annual COVID-19 vaccine. All PMF associates are required to receive the annual Influenza vaccine unless they receive an approved accommodation.
