Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Implement and monitor patient care plans. Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire required.

Additional Preferences

We are a specialized Med Surg Unit, servicing 22 beds, that sees patients with pulmonary conditions. As a Registered Nurse with 6 South, you'll be at the forefront of delivering exceptional patient-centered care to those with pulmonary conditions. Our department is dedicated to providing comprehensive assessment, treatment, and support to patients with respiratory illnesses, ensuring they receive the highest standard of care throughout their journey. With a multidisciplinary team approach, you'll collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes. From managing ventilator support to providing education on pulmonary health, our unit offers diverse opportunities for professional growth and impact.

Provide direct care for the pulmonary patients
Support and Educate patients and families – procedure and plan of care Evaluate patient responses to treatments and interventions Monitor, record, and communicate with patient conditions as appropriate throughout their stay and recovery
