Job Description:

JOB SUMMARY

The Surgical Technologist Intern works under the direct supervision of a preceptoring Surgical Technologist. The Surgical Technologists Intern will collaborate with the preceptoring Surgical Technologist to provide a safe, efficient environment for the surgical patient and staff by working in accordance with Marshfield Medical Center standards of practice and by adhering to Marshfield Medical Center policies/procedures, universal precautions, and sterile technique.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Currently enrolled in a Surgical Technologist program with completion of one semester of surgical technologist curriculum.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
