Job Summary
- - The PACU/SDS Hybrid nurse will work between MORH Surgical Services and South Surgical Services to provide care for patient’s pre and post-operatively of all ages recovering from anesthesia, including general, regional, and local. The PACU/SDS Hybrid nurse evaluates plans, implements, and documents nursing care, assessment for pain, maintains hemodynamic and neurological stability, and maintains a patent airway. In addition to immediate post-operative care, this nurse will assess overall anesthesia recovery and educates patients and their families about homecare instructions before patient discharge.
  - Work Requirements:
    - The PACU/SDS Hybrid nurse will be required to work a minimum of:
      One 10 hour shift at Cox South per pay period
      Take eight hours of call every six weeks at Cox South
      Work one holiday per year at Cox South
      Late case coverage for MORH OR
  - Direct care staff are required to complete all Hip and Knee Replacement Program curriculum and annual education module(s) assigned.
Job Requirements
- Education
  - Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program
  - Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
- Experience
  - Preferred: 1 year of OR experience
- Skills
  - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  - Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
  - Exhibits valuable time management skills
  - Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills
  - Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment
- Licensure/Certification/Registration
  - Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
  - BLS must be obtained within 90 days
