Job Description Summary

The Hospital Consultation Support (HSN) RN II reports to the Telehealth Acute Care Services Nurse Manager. Under direct supervision, the HSN coordinates and supports specialty telemedicine consultations. The HSN understands and acts as a resource for telemedicine software applications. The HSN provides support of performance improvement with data collection and trending outcomes. This role performs activities to ensure effective operations of telehealth locations, while enhancing patient’s access to care, and providing the highest level of customer service. The role demonstrates an understanding of factors that contribute to successful telehealth programs, including legal, credentialing, licensing, state and federal policy, administrative, technical, and financial issues.

Job Description

The role demonstrates an understanding of factors that contribute to successful telehealth programs, including legal, credentialing, licensing, state and federal policy, administrative, technical, and financial issues.

Additional Job Description

Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing and a minimum of three years’ clinical nursing experience is required. Telehealth experience preferred.

Licensure as a registered nurse by the state of South Carolina or compact state required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) or ACLS required, either a certification from an American Heart Association (AHA) BLS for Healthcare Providers (or AHA recognized equivalent) or an American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer and Healthcare Provider

Bachelor of Nursing degree preferred. RN staff hired on or after July 1, 2013 with an Associate or Diploma degree in nursing are required to be enrolled in an accredited BSN program within two years and successfully obtain a BSN degree within four years of the RN hire or reclassification date. Refer to policy A141 for more details. A minimum of one year of work experience as a registered nurse required. Licensure as a registered nurse by the South Carolina Board of Nursing or a compact state.
