Job Description
This position will support the Willows and Woodland service areas.
POSITION SUMMARY: Under general supervision of the Director of Nursing, the Lead Clinic Support Trainer functions as a multi skilled health care professional in an ambulatory setting. This position is essential to set the tone for training new employees as they on-board and learn the workflow of clinical support procedures, Agency Policies and Procedures, and EMR system. They will work in collaboration with the sites RN Clinic Coordinator (RNCC) to support the nursing staff with adapting to NVIH. The Lead Nursing Trainer is essential in setting a supportive atmosphere for the nursing staff by stepping into patient care when needed, which translates into a positive experience for the patients. Supporting patients by observing NVIH Core Values is essential to incumbents successfully completing these responsibilities.

- Support new clinic support staff employees as they on-board and ensure that training aligns with NVIH’s core values and mission.
- Support new clinic support staff employees in the workflow of clinic support procedures specific to NVIH in line with Policies and Procedures and communicate with the direct supervisor to identify training needs, create tailored training plans, and implement various training methods to enhance employees’ skills and performance. Work through the on-boarding checklists to keep employees on task and report to direct supervisor any deficiencies noted.
- Support RNCC with monitoring new employees’ progress toward goals.
- Provide enhanced training in support staff workflow in the EMR system to ensure new employees feel comfortable navigating the system while rooming patients and performing job functions. Assist providers who have EMR questions.
- Assist with introduction of new workflows and train employees.
- Support medical team with rooming patients and preparing the patient and provider for the patient experience such as documenting patient reason for visit and taking vitals and assist provider when clinic policy dictates that a female be present for gynecological exams.
- Perform Medical Assistant duties as necessary to support smooth clinic operations.
- Support the overall functioning of the Medical Clinic by following instructions and observing lines of communication as their position relates to the team.
- Responsible for communicating problems identified involving personnel, medical staff, patient, families, and the general public to Nursing and Medical Leadership.
- Responsible for communicating required updates to training materials and training methods with ever changing workflows.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Experience and Skills
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
- Current national certification from the American Association of Medical Assistants or state certification from California Certifying Board of Medical Assistant preferred.
- Six (6) months of training in Certification in phlebotomy preferred.
- Two (2) year experience as a Medical Assistant at NVIH with expert knowledge of Policies and Procedures and established workflow for medical assistants.
- Strong understanding of NVIH company culture and team dynamics, meeting qualifications and expectations outlined in Medical Assistant job description.
- Champion level proficiency for Electronic Health Records (eCW) required.
- Able to effectively work independently with minimal supervision with the ability to take initiative.
- Skill in providing training and work review to departmental staff.
- Ability to inspire and motivate staff to promote a harmonious work environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of medical billing as pertains to essential functions, such as advising staff or patients regarding self-pay costs.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, able to effectively relate via the telephone and in-person to serve the needs of clinic patients/clients/visitors in a manner that is efficient and productive.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving and analytical skills with acute attention to detail with spatial awareness;
- Ability to understand and adhere to established policies, procedures, protocols, and the ability to make timely and sound decisions.
- Proven ability to engage in team collaboration and demonstrates a caring and compassionate commitment to the patient and their unique circumstances.
- Must have reliable transportation as travel to various sites is required and to engage in regular attendance.
