About our Telehealth Medical Assistant position
Under the supervision and direction of the Telehealth Services Program Manager, provides support to patients and co-workers by performing, with accuracy and timeliness, a variety of clinical and administrative tasks remotely.
What you will be doing!
Responds to patient requests and coordinates services. Answers questions, provides patient education and referrals. Provides excellent customer service to patients and co-workers. Ensure patients are prepared for clinicians. Assists with keeping appointments on time and optimizing the flow. Performs all front and back-office responsibilities as required by the virtual health center

Major Responsibilities:
Using technology, including EPIC, webcam, Webex, and telephone to provide care to patients from a distance.
Assisting patients by responding to requests and coordinating services from appropriate personnel or departments as needed.
Establishing and preparing documents for patient records and patient services; completes patient insurance information and enters visit data into PPGNHAIK systems.
Providing non-judgmental, client-centered care, and provides accurate information by answering questions and providing appropriate resources.
Utilizing comprehensive knowledge of birth control methods and reproductive health services to provide patient education. Uses EPIC MyChart to provide Planned Parenthood Patient Education Sheets, (PES) and Informed Consent Forms, (ICF) Client and offers Planned Parenthood services or community resources for identified patient needs.
Providing patients and co-workers with excellent customer service in all interactions and tasks. Utilizes service recovery when appropriate and seeks assistance from co-workers or the health center manager to ensure resolution.
Completing all functions of patient check-in including income screening, explanation of funding, and payment options. Explain the different types of coverage or funding available to the patient and refers patients for assistance with health care insurance sign up when appropriate.
Recording and collecting patient payments and solicits donations. Follows organizational guidelines to improve collections and minimize uncompensated care.
Front Office Responsibilities:
Performing tasks in the front office including, but not limited to, checking patients in and out; answering phones; quoting fees; ordering and maintaining supplies; and a variety of clerical tasks including running reports and collecting necessary data
Participating in the revenue cycle by maintaining patient accounts; obtaining, recording, and updating financial information at appropriate intervals; recording and collecting patient payments; and following organizational guidelines to improve collections and minimize uncompensated care
Back Office Responsibilities:
Collecting and accurately charts information pertaining to patient visits including reported vitals and information received from patients
Performing tasks in the back office including, but not limited to: rooming patients, assisting the clinician, ordering and maintaining supplies, and a variety of tasks which require demonstrating a knowledge of universal precautions, sterile technique and hazardous waste disposal
Participating in providing informed consent for a variety of services in compliance with ethical and legal standards of informed consent; ensures that all required documentation of that process is thorough and complete
Participating in and completing new and required training in a timely manner and maintains current status on certifications and competencies as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
Department of Health Medical Assistant- Certified (CM) in WA State or Medical Assistant – Phlebotomy (PC) in WA State may be required at some sites; National MA certification may be required at some AK, ID, HI sites.
Preferred Qualifications:
1-2 years in a healthcare setting.
National Medical Assistant Certification
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other software applications. Experience with electronics health records.
Salary Range:
$18.45 – 27.68
