Job SummaryReporting to the Director of Nursing Education, Research, and Innovation, the RN Education Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the nursing education department. This includes managing nursing education staff, budgeting, and developing educational programs and courses. Oversees and maintains various technology systems, including Learning Management Systems. Provides professional development opportunities though Nursing Grand Rounds, and RN clinical orientation. Promotes a positive and supportive environment for nursing students and nursing pathway programs, encouraging collaboration with academic partners. Serves as the main liaison with the accrediting body for continuing education hours, provides continuing education hour certificates and ensures accurate documentation and reporting. Oversees the nursing clinical ladder program, ensuring that it is effectively implemented and aligned with nursing professional development standards. Manages the American Heart Association training program. Leads the Nursing Professional Development Council, facilitating meetings, setting agendas, and driving initiatives that enhance nursing education and professional growth within the organization. Provides guidance and support to clinical nurse educators, fostering their professional development and ensuring they are equipped with the skills and knowledge to support nursing staff education and competencies. Ensures adherence to regulatory requirements and development of relevant policies, maintaining compliance and organizational guidelines. Adheres to the American Nurses Association (ANA) Nursing Leadership: Scope and Standards of Practice. Utilizes and supports Watson's Theory of Human Caring and Caritas Processes as a part of daily practice.Essential Functions:

1. Operations• Plans and develops aspects of human resources management to include engagement, recruitment, and retention within the Nursing Education Department. • Leads the educational design process, nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, evidence-based practice, and adult education principles to impact the quality of patient care as expert educator, consultant, and project manager.• Regularly evaluate the performance of technology systems, including the LMS, to ensure optimal functionality, identify areas for improvement, and implement necessary enhancements.• Leads and maintains a culture of performance improvement and change management using Lean and other tools. • Designs and distributes marketing materials for educational activities.• Effectively manages and implements rapidly changing education issues and processes.• Develops and coordinates teaching strategies and programs for staff as applicable.• Manages the issuance of continuing education certificates, ensure accurate documentation, and submit annual reports and recertification applications.• Plans and assists in acquisition of new education products and systems. • Conducts an annual Educational Needs Assessment.• Submits an annual report detailing annual outcomes.

2. Planning and Strategy • Leads strategic plan for overall education program.• Plans, develops, implements, and reviews project plans for strategic initiatives and/or proposals to monitor program effectiveness.• Collaborates with educational partners, and Academic Affairs, to integrate key education operations and standardize processes, increasing efficiency and eliminating waste. • Gathers and tracks educational effectiveness data.

• Plans, develops, and oversees implementation, updates, and revisions to the Nursing Education sub-site.

3. Financial Management • Leads, develops, revises, manages, and tracks annual budget for education programs and operates within the budget. • Tracks productivity for education department. • Collaborates with finance to ensure budget adjustments are documented and justified. • Develops expansion requests to support FTE’s, supplies, and equipment to enhance the learner experience at Denver Health. • Collaborates with Denver Health Foundation to secure grant funding for education programs.

4. Leadership• Leads, manages, advises, mentors, directs, and evaluates administrative personnel with fairness and accountability. • Performs continuous employee coaching and fosters teamwork, training, and development of administrative personnel.• Prepares and oversees all administrative performance reviews, ensuring compliance and adherence to hospital and departmental policies, objectives, and operational procedures. • Provides leadership and mentorship for Clinical Nurse Educators.• In concert with the Clinical Nurse Educators or project leaders determines the effectiveness of education projects on identified problems/issues and follows up with Nursing Leadership.

5. Program Management and Administration • Executes on organization-level strategy for education.• Reviews, revises, and approves monthly invoices specific to education programs.• Tracks and provides updates on education program metrics.• Creates, revises, and implements policies and procedures ensuring regulatory compliance of education programs.• Oversees coordination of simulation and continuing nursing education (CNE) programs to enhance professional growth and development of Denver Health’s workforce.• Conducts expectations training with department administrative support.• Collaborates with Denver Health partners to establish and maintain appropriate learning management system and CNE database.• Oversees CNE activity outcomes measurement components: pre-test, post-test, polling, evaluation, etc. • Develops and distributes CNE activity summary to faculty/departments. • Serves as partner in the development of the Denver Health Simulation Program.6. Learning and Innovation• Attend formal educational classes as required by Denver Health. Pursues learning opportunities to enhance performance.

Education:

1. Completion of a nursing education program that satisfies the licensing requirements of the Colorado State Board of Nursing for Registered Nurses2. Master’s degree in nursing (MSN). Certified Nurse Educator (CNE), Certified Nursing Professional Development Specialist (CNPD) or Certified Academic Clinical Nurse Educator (CNEcl) preferred.

Work Experience:

- A minimum of five years of nursing experience, including at least two years as a nurse educator and two years in a leadership role.

- Proficient in developing digital courses and managing educational content in various technology systems.

Certifications and Licenses:

1. American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support for Health Care Provider Certification/CPR. 2. Active Registered Nurse (RN) License in the State of Colorado or a participating compact state. 3. National board certification is a preference and encouraged for all nurse leaders.4. *Specialty certifications as required or recommended per unit. All Certifications and Licenses required for this job must be kept current as a condition of continued employment

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

1. Adherence to Standards of Professional Nursing Practice/ Process / Performance [ANA Standards addendum- signed] and accrediting body standards.2. Strong understanding and display of the principals of customer service as it applies to patients, staff and the community3. Ability to assist in identifying ways to promote quality patient-centric care and maintain Denver Health’s high level of patient satisfaction. [Nursing Vision Statement]4. Ability to work effectively in a team matrix environment. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively at all levels and in a cross functional environment.5. Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary staff, charge nurses, clinical nurse educator(s), and Nursing Managers, providers,, executive leadership to provide care to patients with respect to their uniqueness using informed judgment, competence, individual qualifications, and collaboration with the health care team. 6. Ability to demonstrate an understanding of assessment findings as they relate to the disease process and continuum of care.7. Supports compliance with national patient safety goals, accrediting agency standards, and quality initiatives.8. Evaluates practice in relation to professional standards, statues, regulations, hospital and departmental policies, standards of care, and regulatory 9. Promotes quality care by redefining priorities for care based on evaluation of healthcare consumer/family response or changing condition.
