Psychiatric Nurse Pratitioner - Full Time Only

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is looking for Nurse Practitioners to provide medical care to our patients in a clinical setting under the supervision of a physician. Experience working in the behavioral health field is strongly preferred.

Lighthouse Behavioral Health Hospital is a 105 bed free standing hospital that provides acute inpatient treatment for adolescents, adults, and older adults in behavioral health and substance use crisis.

Qualifications

Qualifications/Licensure:

Licensed by the South Carolina State Board of Medical Examiners.
Current licensure/certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner or Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with authorization for prescriptive authority.

Job Summary:

The Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for providing care in connection with the interdisciplinary team, under the supervision of a physician. All care provided will be reviewed by the supervising physician in accordance with state and federal guidelines.

Performs and records the patient history and physical examination in accordance with hospital policy and in compliance with standards and regulations. Establishes differential diagnosis and communicates findings with the physician.
Orders appropriate lab and diagnostic procedures and provides follow up care when needed.
Synthesizes data to determine primary diagnosis and therapeutic plan utilizing established medical principles.
Demonstrates the ability to recognize and critically assess any changes in patient’s condition and reports such to the physician.
Facilitates coordination and development of a comprehensive and individual plan of care in collaboration with patient, family, and multidisciplinary team.
Facilitates one on one communication with primary care physician regarding current and ongoing patient care needs.
Acts as a hospitalist service liaison with patient care staff.
Acts as a liaison and facilitator between hospitalist, staff members, case managers, and attending physician regarding patient.
