Responsibilities This positon is for a nurse graudate. If you are graduating soon, this position is for you.
A graduate of a Board-approved nursing education program may work as a non-licensed graduate:
- Works under the direct supervision and direction of a licensed registered nurse for a maximum of 180 days immediately following graduation from a Board-approved registered nursing education program and has applied for nursing licensure in the State of Oklahoma.
- The nursing graduate may perform continuing assessments or focused assessments of an assigned patient; however, the nurse graduate shall not perform initial or change-in-condition assessment of a patient.
- The nursing graduate may follow healthcare provider orders for administration of medications and treatments, including take verbal orders from the physician or other health care provider, and develop the plan of care. The nursing graduate shall not administer blood or blood products, intravenous medications, anticoagulants, emergent or intensive care drips, and insulin.
- The nursing graduate must submit written documentation of observed competencies that have been previously demonstrated under the supervision of a faculty member of the nursing graduate’s Board-approved nursing education program.
- The supervising RN must be physically present in the institution, not, however, providing direct supervision for every activity.
- Upon graduation of the Nursing Program, must take and pass the NCLEX licensure examination within 180 days after graduation.
Job Functions:
- Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
- Constructs and implements the plan of care using nursing knowledge and skill. Integrates direct and indirect patient care activities related to the diagnosis and co-morbidities.
- Coordinates the implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients. Develops goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient/family needs.
- Consistently completes hourly rounds with purpose to strengthen nurse communication, improve safety, and anticipate patient needs (i.e., pain, re-positioning, toileting). Rounds with purpose including pro-actively evaluating the environment to ensure it is patient friendly and patient safe.
