Level II:
Provides a variety of moderately difficult personal care services and procedures; implements assigned adjunctive services; participates in providing therapeutic services; may participate in a planned training program; and performs other related duties as assigned.
Level III:
Provides adjunctive services; implements prescribed therapeutic procedures; and performs other related duties as required.
To qualify, you must meet all of the following requirements:
Legal Authorization to Work:
The State of Hawaii requires all persons seeking employment with the government of the State shall be citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens of the United States, or eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment in the United States.
Knowledge and Abilities Required:
Knowledge of:
General principles of personal hygiene and bodily care, and housekeeping.
Ability to:
Follow oral and written instructions precisely; get along well with others; acquire and demonstrate an attitude of respect toward patients with a variety of disabilities; retain emotional stability despite emotional and physical pressures; develop an appreciation of nursing and medical ethics.
For Level II:
In addition to all the requirements listed above:
Specialized Experience:
One (1) year of work experience in health facilities such as hospitals, clinics, health centers and other medically oriented institutions where the primary or basic objective was to provide for the maximum physical, mental and/or emotional health of the patient and which duties involved:
1)
The observation and reporting of a variety of physical and/or mental symptoms and conditions and/or
2)
Implementing care and/or treatment procedures.
This experience must be comparable in scope and difficulty to the Para Medical Assistant I position, performing simple and routine tasks relating to the care of patients or residents; providing related services required for the operations of the facility, participating in a planned training program and performing other duties as assigned.
For Level III
:
Specialized Experience:
Two (2) years of work experience in health facilities such as hospitals, clinics, health centers and other medically oriented institutions where the primary or basic objective was to provide for the maximum physical, mental and/or emotional health of the patient and which duties involved:
1)
The observation and reporting of a variety of physical and/or mental symptoms and conditions and/or
2)
Implementing care and/or treatment procedures.
This experience must be comparable in scope and difficulty to the Para Medical Assistant II position, performing a variety of moderately difficult personal care and procedures; implements assigned adjunctive services; participates in providing therapeutic services; participate in a planned training program.
Special Language Requirement:
Applicants must possess knowledge of and the ability to speak, read and write
fluent Tagalog, Ilocano and/or Visayan
in addition to the English language.
Driver's License: Some positions require possession of a valid driver's license at the time of appointment. The immediate vacancy has this requirement.
