Infection Preventionist / Wound Care Nurse (RN)

Responsibilities:

Provide patient care in accordance with acceptable standards of nursing practice and the written plan of care as well as physicians plan of treatment
Demonstrate sound clinical judgement
Provide wound care in accordance to patient needs and best clinical judgement
Provide respectful and compassionate care to all residents/families/caregivers
Provide direction to clinical team members
Maintain resident confidentiality
Accurate documentation in accordance with the provided orders
Responsible for identifying, investigating, monitoring, the use of PPE, education and training on disease process and prevention of associated infections
Collaborate with the center's team and individuals to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention strategies
Focus on Quality Improvement
Public health, epidemiology, clinical laboratory science, medical technology or related experience is required

Here is what is needed to be part of this amazing team:

Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a RN in the state of Rhode Island
Minimum 1 year of RN experience in a long term care setting/skilled nursing facility Required
Certification in Infection Control and Epidemiology required (if not certified, we can provide assistance to get certified)
Wound Care Certification preferred, but not required
BLS/CPR Certification Required
Primary series of the COVID Vaccination is required (or new bivalent COVID Vaccine or medical exemption)
