Overview
The Student Nurse Apprentice I (SNA I) serves as a member of the healthcare team at Novant Health by establishing an authentic personalized relationship with the patient and their chosen support system. The SNA I provides and documents assistance to patients with activities of daily living, comfort measures, and maintains a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED, required. Current student in accredited nursing program.
- Experience:
- Licensure/Certification: Completion Novant Health sponsored training program, required. Life Support Responder (within 90 days of employment), required. Completion of Novant Health Safety Attendant Training, required.
- Additional Skills (preferred):
- Basic computer skills for documentation
- Upon completion of the Novant Health sponsored training program, the SNA I works within the guidelines of nursing and Novant Health policies and procedures.
- Must exhibit strong communication skills; ability to write effectively; effective computer skills, and strong customer service skills
- Medical Unit Receptionist (MUR) and Safety Attendant duties may be assigned as determined by unit leaders and unit needs. If needed in the MUR role, the SNA I must be able to perform the MUR skills as indicated in the MUR job description. If needed in the Safety attendant role, the SNA I must complete appropriate training and be able to perform the Safety Attendant skills as indicated in the Safety Attendant job description.
