Idaho Falls Community Hospital is looking for a Registered Nurse/Clinical Team Lead to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: The Clinical Team Lead/RN plays an important role in the nursing department, ensuring nursing operations are smooth and effective in their health care facility and/or department. They provide administrative support for the nursing manager and for the nursing department as a whole. They help oversee daily operations of their units and ensure proper care is provided for all patients. Specific day-to-day tasks may include assisting with patient care, relaying information to doctors, communicating with various health care professionals, providing information about care and treatment to patients, assisting nursing staff with various problems, and resolving patient complaints. Additionally, the CLT/RN plays a crucial role in training and educating the nursing staff, which typically includes performing orientations, coordinating regular staff training, conducting staff meetings, and identifying areas for training. It also consists of meeting with administrators and staff educators, gathering staff feedback, and coordinating internships and preceptorships. This job also includes human resource management, as CLT/RN’s are often involved in recruiting and hiring nursing staff; they also play a large part in retaining high-quality staff through effective management. They help address staff issues or concerns, identify and help resolve interpersonal conflicts among staff, and address behavioral problems among individual employees.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Surgical Services CTL/Registered Nurse--OR
The Clinical Team Lead must be able to function in the role as an Pre-Op/PACU or OR Circulator nurse/Charge nurse as well as:
- Coordinate clinical staff requirements and ensure that all staff are current in their licensure and education.
- Coordinate clinical requirements with staff regarding equipment and supplies.
- Collaborate with the manager frequently regarding problem solving/issue resolution and process improvement that will impact unit performance and workflow.
- Collaborate with members of the interdisciplinary team and other departments to resolve issues and improve workflow processes throughout the department and ensure safe patient care.
- Participate and collaborate in the interview process for new applicants.
- Have the ability to work with, mentor, and coach new staff to help them progress in their career and professional development.
- Review and/or create competencies and requirements for the department to ensure that quality assurance is met. Validation of competencies to ensure that workload demands within the unit are covered.
- Evaluate the performance of staff: Nurses and nursing assistants while having the ability to provide ongoing feedback, mentoring, and coaching. Provides feedback at 30-, 60-, and 90-day evaluations to staff.
- Scheduling of staff within the department to best meet the needs of the population of patients.
- Has a working knowledge of clinical equipment, including supplies, and has the ability to problem solve issues and educate staff.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: Current unencumbered, Idaho/Multi-state Registered Nurse Licensure (bachelor’s degree preferred). Current BLS, ACLS, PALS.
Experience: Requires 2 years of Peri-operative experience, preferred both Pre-op/PACU and OR circulator experience. Minimum of 1 year leadership, management or education experience. It is at the managers discretion to determine eligibility for those interested in this position who may be exceptional performers but do not hold the required experience.
Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge and is able to demonstrate understanding of basic computer documentation systems as needed. Has the ability to learn and teach competence based education to staff on the unit.
Language/Communication: Has the ability to communicate effectively and clearly with many different people (patients, families, visitors, members of the interdisciplinary team and others).
