Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Practice Nurse (LPN/CMA) / Front Desk Coordinator to join the Practice Management team at Sampson Orthopedic Group!

Description:

This is a hybrid position responsible for both Practice Nurse and Front Desk Coordinator job functions. The selected candidate will be responsible for all front desk functions, as well as assisting with patient care when called upon by the physician. Will coordinate patient flow and ensure care is delivered safely, effectively, and efficiently. Will collect patient data, demographics, insurance information, and payments and accurately enter the obtained information into the electronic health record. Will also assist in the management of patient care provided in the practice and coordinate patient flow to ensures care is delivered safely, effectively and efficiently. Additional responsibilities include interviewing patients and taking medical history, giving injections, completing lab and x-ray requests, keeping charts current and screens calls within the practice/provider's guidelines. Will also administer prescribed medications and perform simple treatment as directed by the provider.

Requirements:

Currently licensed by the Board of Nursing to practice nursing as an LPN in the state of North Carolina or registered as a Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants
Previous physician office or healthcare setting desired
Must demonstrate proficiency and knowledge of Electronic Medical Record documentation in accordance with Meaningful Use objectives
Competent in EKG testing, blood draws and injections
Current BLS certification required, ACLS preferred

Hours:

This is a full-time position. Hours may vary for the effective operation of the department.
