Job Summary and Qualifications

Develops and maintains systems to promote internal and external customer satisfaction. Accountable for promoting high levels of employee, patient and physician satisfaction. Promotes optimal patient outcomes, while maintaining appropriate productivity standards. Is responsible for ensuring adequate staffing, including providing for back-up staffing on off shifts as needed. Assumes 24 hour accountability in absence of director. Demonstrates advanced knowledge and skills in the care of patients of designated units. Provides patient care utilizing the nursing process – assessment, care planning, implementation, and reassessment – for identified patient populations per the Colorado Nurse Practice Act. Documents patient care administered. Coordinates interdisciplinary communication and care. The delivery of care is based on the age, physical, psychological, cultural, safety, and learning needs of the individual patient. Demonstrates basic and unit specific competencies. Supervises RNs, LPNs, MST, CNAs, US. Conducts annual performance evaluations; provides coaching and counseling for employees as appropriate. Supervises unit scheduling and monitors call-ins for appropriate action.

What qualifications you will need:

Basic Cardiac Life Support through the AHA or ARC required at time of hire.
Registered Nurse, current licensure in the State of Colorado as a Registered Nurse, or current active multistate Registered Nurse license.
Certified Wound Ostomy Continence Nurse (CWOCN) required.
Bachelors Degree, BSN Required. Post-Graduate Degree (preferred).
