Nurses work collaboratively with hospital medicine providers to care for a diverse patient population with complicated physical and social needs. Patients have a wide range of diagnoses including sepsis, alcohol withdrawal, asthma/COPD, sickle cell crisis, and complications of kidney and liver disease.?? 36 hours per week 3-12 hour shifts Nightshift Weekends: Every other weekend Holidays: As negotiated with unit On call: None Nurse to patient ratio: 1:4 Reassignments within competency Minimum 2 yrs experience;BLS and ACLS required.Nurse must have progressive care/PCU/IMC experience. Dress code: Ceil blue/white scrubs: VCU Health has a natural nails policy BKAT is requiredLawson code: 2104/?CC100232?Unit is located in the North Hospital, 9thfloor Additional Information:Orientation: The first 16 hours of orientation are unpaid. Call Off Policy: 5 shifts (or the equivalent hours) per 13 week assignment. Parking: Travelers may need to pay for parking at VCU depending on how close they want to be to the hospital.
