Job Summary and Qualifications

The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated basic patient care services. In collaboration with the RN and other members of the care team, the LPN/LVN provides individualized, comprehensive care consistent with the scope and standards of the specialty.
Job duties:
- Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions.
- Administers hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring patients’ responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
- As a secondary role, works in the wound center’s clinic at times, treating clinic patients who are receiving wound care.
- Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
- Participates in safety program activities, such as coordinating safety drills.
- Performs other duties as required, including but not limited to main telephone backup and pre-calls for new patients.
What qualifications you will need:
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
- Licensed Practical / Vocational Nurse (LPN / LVN)
- Vocational School Graduate
