Education
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred
Experience / Qualifications
- RN- Current RN licensure in the state of Florida
- American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider
- American Heart Association ACLS
- NIHSS Stroke Scale
- Strong experience with IV placement and critical care experience (i.e., ICU, ED, PCU, Interventional/Cath Lab, Endoscopy, OR/PACU) preferred
- This position requires Call
Position Summary
The Imaging Nurse is available to assist all the modalities in Radiology: Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the RN's performance supports service excellence and a healing environment.
- The nurse collaborates with the Radiologists in the planning of patient care.
- The nurse may function in the pre, intra and post procedure care of the patient, rotating modalities daily.
- The nurse will assist in diagnostic procedures as well as highly complex invasive neuro and peripheral interventions such as cerebral aneurysm coils, AVM & AVF repairs and stroke interventions.
- The nurse will be required to start IV’s and access and de-access ports.
- The nurse will be required to administer conscious sedation and monitor sedated patients per hospital policy.
- The nurses are responsible for the proper handling and documentation of specimens.
- The nurses work collaboratively with the Admitting nurse in setting up home health needs or inpatient admissions.
- The nurse will be responsible for being “on call” and nurses assigned to call must be available per the department on call policy.
- The nurse is responsible for attending in-services and keeping abreast of best practices and new technology.
- The RN identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements
This job can be physically demanding at times requiring stooping, sitting, standing, and walking for long periods of time. The team member will need to frequently assist lifting patients and heavy equipment. Must be able to work in a stressful environment, work independently, making sound decisions, detail oriented, alert and self-motivated. Ability to push/pull up to 40lbs, carry and lift up to 50lbs.
