REGISTERED NURSE - SURGERY

SUMMARY

Coordinates total nurse care for patient using professional AORN standards and the O.R. process; participates in patient care, teaching to patients and family, provides leadership working cooperatively with other health care providers, and provide outcomes appropriate to patient procedures.

MINIMUM EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice at a level normally acquired through completion of an accredited School of Nursing.

Previous experience preferred. If none, will provide on the job training.

Current State Nursing License.

ACLS, PALS, and BLS required.

Within one year of being in the position, must complete the Trauma Nursing Core Certification (TNCC). Thereafter, must complete 8 hours of trauma continuing education annually.
