We are currently seeking a Full-time Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Fayette County Jail located in Fayetteville, Georgia.

About this position:

This position is a Mental Health position that will be evaluating and providing mental health services to the inmate population. This person should be able to diffuse situations and report information appropriately to other GENESYS HEALTH providers, staff members, corporate staff, or facility administration. There is an expectation that this individual maintains professional knowledge of GENESYS HEALTH policy and procedures. The person filling this position is expected to be an example for other staff members in behavior, attitude, and skills.

Qualifications

PMHNP licensed in the United States.
Master’s degree in Nursing.
Current Licensure in as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
Experienced working in behavioral Health setting.
At least three years of direct clinical experience Post Licensure.
Strong Knowledge of Psychiatric medications, and their effects on patients.
Active BLS Healthcare Provider/CPR Certification from the American Health Association or the American Red Cross
Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.
Corrections experience preferred.

General Duties (including but not limited to)

One year of Mental Health experience preferred; Correctional experience preferred, but not required.
Excellent problem-solving skills with strong organizational abilities
Knowledge in a range of counseling and therapeutic techniques
Ability to manage multiple issues or deadlines in stressful situations with tact and professionalism.
Excellent communication skills: Ability to concisely communicate situations or needs effectively with sites and GENESYS HEALTH Corporate Managers
Provides necessary counseling as required for the patient.
Assess the patient’s psychosocial needs and evaluate progress with supervisor.
Collaborates with all disciplines to plan and evaluate team goals for each patient.
Focuses on assisting patient through discharge process of both in and out-patient treatment facilities as applicable.
Utilizes a variety of therapy techniques and treatment plans.
Facilitates patient progress and referrals.
Adheres to Company policies and procedures when providing services to patients.
Observes, documents and reports patient progress.
Performs other duties as assigned/necessary.
