Job Summary
Branson Maternity provides family-centered care in a friendly supportive environment. Our staff have a strong teamwork approach to care. Our staff are always willing to assist each other and ensure everyone feels the support they need to care for our patients though any situation.
The Labor and Delivery/Women and Newborn nurse cares for women and neonates during labor, childbirth, and postpartum care through discharge. They are responsible for assisting, supporting, and educating families throughout the birth process and postpartum period. They provide comprehensive, family centered nursing care to mothers and newborns during antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum stages. They educate and assist the new mother with her physical and emotional needs. They perform the dual role of caring for the infants and educating mothers about their care. The Labor and Delivery/Women and Newborn nurse must be able to recognize complications and act quickly to stabilize the situation and communicate with the patient, family, and appropriate physicians and specialists. Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Experience
Preferred: Previous nursing experience
Skills
●Excellent verbal and written communication skills
●Demonstrate effective leadership abilities
●Exhibits valuable time management skills
●Strong critical thinking/problem solving skills.
●Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Licensure/Certification/Registration
Required: RN license active in the state of Missouri
Required: BLS must be obtained within 90 days
Must obtain ACLS within one year of hire
Must obtain NRP within one year of hire
