History of the company and facility:
Pyramid Healthcare is based out of Central Pennsylvania and has been in operations since 1999. Over the last 23 years we have systematically grown our operations to become a national leader in Behavioral Healthcare. We now, proudly, operate over 80 facilities in 7 states and employ over 2800 employees. In July of 2021, we opened our first program in the Commonwealth of Virginia, in Newport News. In the last year we have built out our program in Newport News to offer comprehensive and robust treatment plans and levels of care options to our consumers.
Position:
As we continue to grow our program we are seeking Psychiatric Nurse Manager to join our team. This individual will provide direct support and supervision to our talented team of LPNs and RNs. Our Nurse Manager and Nurses provide services to our consumers, coordinate with our medical team and other providers, and other duties as assigned. The Nurse Manager will report to our Executive Director, while working collaboratively with other leadership at the site level to ensure appropriate client care. The Nurse Manager will be responsible for:
- Work collaboratively with medical and operations teams to ensure quality of services and engagement goals are met consistently
- Ensure that nursing staff follow detox protocols at all times
- Conduct weekly, documented supervision for all nursing staff
- Work with Program Director to ensure that all nursing staffing needs are met
- Ensure that nursing staff process admissions smoothly and efficiently and can effectively average 1 admission per hour
- Ensure that nursing staff maintain high quality EMR documentation
- Contribute to medical preparation for surveys; interact with state reviewers; provide feedback and documentation as needed
- Properly instructs and guides supervisees in terms of client care
- Responds to and effectively resolves all client and or staff problems/issues in a timely manner
- Communicates all client and staff issues with supervisor
- Maintains positive working relationship with co-workers
- Other duties as assigned
- To ensure the delivery of quality nursing care to all clients through the provision, supervision, direction and management of client care. Strong background in supervisory duties, knowledge of HIPPA laws, state licensing regulations, trainings as required. Knowledge of The Joint Commission regulations. This position would need to be available after normal scheduled hours as needed for medical consult.

Ability to make decisions in an objective and ethical manner. Calm and decisive in crisis situations. Ability to sustain a team environment, drive continuous improvement projects, maintain confidentiality, excellent problem-solving skills and excellent communicator within the team framework.
Education:
- Requires valid RN license in Virginia. (Prefer Bachelors in Nursing)
- 3 or more years of experience supervising medical staff.
- 2 to 4 years of experience working with substance use / psychiatric demographic in residential or inpatient setting.
- Ability to use EMRs effectively.
- Working knowledge of state regulations related to service(s) rendered.
