Education: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing, BSN preferred.
Experience / Qualifications: RN- Current RN licensure in the state of Florida. American Heart Association BLS for Health Care Provider. American Heart Association ACLS. NIHSS Stroke Scale. Strong experience with IV placement and critical care experience (i.e., ICU, ED, PCU, Interventional/Cath Lab, Endoscopy, OR/PACU) preferred. This position requires Call.
Position Summary
The Imaging Nurse is available to assist all the modalities in Radiology: Interventional Radiology, CT, MRI, X-Ray, Nuclear Medicine, and Ultrasound. The RN has a responsibility to act as educator to their peers, patients, and their families. All aspects of the RN performance supports service excellence and a healing environment. The nurse collaborates with the Radiologists in the planning of patient care. The nurse may function in the pre, intra and post procedure care of the patient, rotating modalities daily. The nurse will assist in diagnostic procedures as well as highly complex invasive neuro and peripheral interventions such as cerebral aneurysm coils, AVM & AVF repairs and stroke interventions. The nurse will be required to start IV’s and access and de-access ports. The nurse will be required to administer conscious sedation and monitor sedated patients per hospital policy. The nurses are responsible for the proper handling and documentation of specimens. The nurses work collaboratively with the Admitting nurse in setting up home health needs or inpatient admissions. The nurse will be responsible for being “on call” and nurses assigned to call must be available per the department on call policy. The nurse is responsible for attending in-services and keeping abreast of best practices and new technology. The RN identifies and communicates needed unit resources or equipment to be included in budget. Performs other duties as assigned.

Hand and Wrist (Test both left and right sides) Grip a dynamometer for 10 seconds with a force > 40 lbs.
Pinch together the thumb & forefinger for 10 seconds with a force > 10 lbs. Supported Elbows (Test both left and right sides) Rotate wrist from left to right while holding 10 lb. weight. Fully flex and extend elbow while holding a 10 lb. weight. Shoulders (Test both left and right sides) Sustain shoulder flexion > 135 degrees for 10 seconds while holding 10 lb. weight. Sustain a shoulder shrug for 10 seconds while holding 10 lb. weight in each hand. Legs. Squat and hold position for 30 seconds. Kneel on a single knee, demonstrated on both left and right knee. Push and Pull. Push a stationary loaded cart with a pushing force of 40 lbs. Pull a stationary loaded cart with a pulling force of 40 lbs. Carrying. Carry a 30 lb. weight for a distance of 25 feet. Lifting. Weight lifted during lift test (35lbs. Female - 50lbs. Male requirement). Floor to Table/Table to Floor __________. Table to above shoulder height ____________________(20 lbs. requirement)
Threshold Requirements
These threshold requirements are required and completed yearly basis. Annual Joint Commission mandatory education requirements, in-service and health requirements including attendance at new employee orientation. TB/PPD Surveillance Program. Maintenance of required professional licensing and/or certification(s).
