Primary Clinical Assistant (Licensed Vocational Nurse)

We are looking for a talented RN, LVN, or highly experienced Medical Assistant to fill the role of primary clinical support for a busy orthopaedic surgeon. Duties include calling patients back to the exam room, assessing the need for X-ray evaluation before rooming patients and obtaining a comprehensive history. The ideal candidate should be a strong multi-tasker, thrive in a demanding environment, and have considerable knowledge of orthopaedic medical management. If you have previous experience in Orthopaedics or Sports Medicine, we would like to meet you.

Responsibilities:

Assist with and drawing injections.
Input orders for imaging, PT, DME, orthotics, labs, and referrals.
Patient phone calls and encounters dealing with topics like medications, treatments, test results and surgery.
Knowledgeable in the intricacies of scheduling surgery and imaging.
Function as a role model, team leader and resource person; providing guidance to coworkers.
Confer with physician to provide the highest level of patient care.
Work collaboratively with all providers of care including PT, Home Health, Rehab, Hospital, DME providers and Implant Representatives

Requirements:

3-5 years of clinical experience
Active License and/or Certification
Ability to multi-task without sacrificing attention to detail.

Exposure to and knowledge around orthopaedic medical management

Preferences:

Experience and proficiency in EMR systems
Proficient in removing staples and sutures from post-operative incision sites.
