Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
· Working collaboratively with physicians, clinical team members and other practice employees, provides professional nursing care for clinic patients.
· Maintains strictest confidentiality, in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
· Complies with applicable regulations and laws, adheres to the policies, procedures and rules of our practice, follows treatment protocols and standard operating procedures, and complies with all safety policies.
· Acts as liaison between patient and other clinical team members throughout the evaluation and treatment process, and in third party cases, may act as liaison between egg donors, gestational carriers, intended parents and other outside agencies.
· Regularly evaluates clinical processes and makes recommendations for improvements to clinic management.
· In coordination with other team members, engages potential patients via phone and email after initial physician telephone consult to ensure follow through and conversion to in-person appointment.
· Assesses patient needs and level of understanding after physician consultation, and determines need for further information and/or clinical interventions.
· In coordination with other team members, ensures that tests ordered by physicians are conducted, results are gathered and physician is informed, to allow physician to formulate cycle plan.
· Conducts patient education on injections and medications in individual and small group settings, assessing patients’ ability to learn and anxiety level, using all appropriate learning methods, including verbal, written and demonstrative.
· Completes prior authorizations, coordinates with pharmacy’s and schedules surgical procedures. Circulates for surgical procedures and assist in Pre-Op, PACU as needed.
· In coordination with team members, reviews results and flow sheet narrative, ensuring that any missing or outstanding items are addressed, including but not limited to missing lab work or consents, and reviews medical history with patients to ensure completeness and correctness.
· Makes individual recommendations and treatment decisions pursuant to protocol and with physician oversight.
· Draws blood samples pursuant to protocol.
Education and Experience:
· Graduate of accredited nursing program.
· Valid state license; board certified RN.
· Basic Life Support (BLS) Certificate.
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certificate.
· Prior experience in IVF preferred.
· 2 years surgical experience preferred (pre-op, circulation, PACU)
