This job assumes responsibility for patient plans of care; provides and manages care to individuals and cohorts of patients within a unit; designs, implements and evaluates nursing interventions by coordinating, delegating and supervising the care provided by the healthcare team, including licensed nurses, patient care technicians and other health professionals; and facilitates effective and efficient discharge planning. Provides a significant communication link between Unit Director, staff, patients, physicians and others; serves as a resource to staff for patient care assessment and in the planning and evaluation of nursing interventions; facilitates problem resolution and collaborates with the Unit Director and other supervisory staff in assessing the quality of care provided, identifying staff strengths and weaknesses and evaluating the staff performance; serves as a liaison between staff and Clinical Nurse Specialists and other nursing resources; assumes responsibility for the cost effective and efficient use of human, environmental and material resources.
Education
Required - Registered nurse diploma.
Preferred - Associate's or bachelor's degree in nursing.
Work Experience
Required - 2 years relevant experience working in a fast-paced, stressful environment.
Certifications
Required - Current registered nurse (RN) license in state of practice.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
