Registered Nurse - PACU. 9 D/E

Responsibilities RN-PACU. 9 FTE D/E relocation assistance available

No pediatrics experience? No problem! If you have experience working with adult populations, we will provide training on working with pediatric patients and their families while leveraging the adult RN experience you already have. We will personalize an orientation just for you to set you up for success in the pediatric specialty you are hired for.

Seattle Children's expanded our Periop areas! In 2022, we opened 8 new Operating Rooms and 2 new Cardiac Catheter Labs, giving the organization a total of 28 surgical and procedural spaces across a total of 4 perioperative suites.

Included in the expansion is 2 new Post-Anesthesia Care Units, adding 12 additional Recovery Room Bays, which feature an open concept layout and innovative design features ensuring both patient privacy and safety.

Designed in collaboration with Doctors and Nurses, these new perioperative suites provide unparalleled levels of patient and staff safety and comfort.

PACU is a mix of critical care (Perianesthesia) and acute care (Ambulant surgical) nursing. This area is fast paced and high volume, with around half of all surgeries and procedures undertaken admitted and discharged from within the service on the same day.

Peds PACU, ICU or ER experience is preferred

In accordance with House Bill 1155 (effective January 1, 2020), the following areas have clinical unpredictable needs and as a result will have a call obligation within their nursing positions: Apheresis, Cardiac Cath Lab, Dialysis, ECMO, Home Care Services, Imaging Services (including GI Procedures), Perioperative Services, and Transplant Coordinators.

Requirements Required:

Active Washington State RN license. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Current BLS (American Heart Association Health Care Provider, American Safety and Health Institution Professional Level or American AED/CPR Association - Professional Rescuer) and ability to perform CPR are required. Pediatric Advance Life Support (PALS) is mandatory within 3 months of hire and must be maintained as current thereafter.
