Job Summary Demonstrates the ability to administer quality nursing care in a professional manner, which supports the patient/significant others utilizing the nursing process with coaching and mentoring from his/her team members. Practice supports System and Nursing Strategic Plans, Shared Leadership, and the principles of Relationship-Based Care. Practices within the limits of the Nurse Practice Act of the State of Maryland and adheres to institutional policies, procedures and standards. Practices within the standards of the American Nurses Association for: Scope and Standards of Practice, Code of Ethics for Nursing, Nursing’s Social Policy Statement and Specialty Nursing Standards for his/her area(s) of clinical practice.

Job Description

Functioning under close supervision, the Clinical Nurse I is a licensed new graduate, a beginning practitioner with a basic generic nursing education background, or a practitioner returning to acute care nursing practice after a significant period of time. This level clinician utilizes the nursing process in providing patient care and patient/family teaching. The practitioner in this position assumes responsibility for the care of selected patients and participates as a member of the health care team. Patients served may include neonate through adult-geriatric Qualifications

The specific job duties may be changed by the department manager with or without prior notice based on the needs of the organization. To qualify for the position, the candidate must graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Currently licensed as an RN in the State of Maryland. Successful completion of required nursing, hospital and unit orientation including but not limited to BLS certification and medication certification. Telemetry and ICCU Nurse must complete a telemetry course within three (3) months from date in position.
