Job Summary and Qualifications This is a Full Time Day shift position, 7:00am - 7:00pm
Utilizing the standards set forth for Nursing Practice by the ANA, the RN will organize, modify, evaluate, document and maintain the plan of care for adult and geriatric Critical Care patients to include individualized, family centered, holistic, supportive, and safe care. The RN will float to the ICU and ER departments to assist where needed.Duties include but are not limited to:
Use therapeutic communication in daily practice
Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment of care
Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual patients
Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
Promote an environment that treats patients and families with dignity, respect and appreciation of their lifestyle, religion and culture
Maintain high quality, age specific care for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients as assigned
Delegate tasks appropriately
Provide supervision of new employees, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses, and / or nurse interns
Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization
What qualifications you will need:
Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing required, Associate's degree required, Bachelor's preferred
Current RN licensure by the State of TX required or Compact State license if you declare the compact state your primary state of residence
BLS required at time of hire issued by the American Red Cross or American Heart Association
Minimum of 2 years experience in critical care in an acute care hospital setting within the last 3 years required
ICU & ER experience preferred
Experience caring for long term, high acuity patients and critical care patients preferred
