Job Summary and QualificationsOur Lactation Consultant raise the bar by providing clinical expertise and the highest quality care in the most compassionate way. The Lactation Consultant is responsible for understanding and assisting with the lactation process by providing expert care in lactation management. We are an amazing team, that works hard to support each other and are seeking a phenomenal addition like you, who feels patient care is as meaningful as we do.
What you will do in this role:
You will serve as an expert consultant to maternal- child staff, physicians and other healthcare professionals in the management of patients with complex breastfeeding problems.
You will participate in program management to support and encourage successful breastfeeding through the first year of life.
You will participate in program development activities to facilitate successful exclusive breastfeeding for inpatient mother/infant dad.
You will plan, implement and evaluate patient care plans to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
You will provide education and emotional support appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstance and incorporate patient/family teaching into all aspects of nursing practice.
What qualifications you will need:
Associate Degree. BSN required within 24 months of hire.
Registered Nurse License
1 year of experience as a Lactation Consultant required
Current BLS issued by American Heart Association required
Current NRP issued American Heart Association required
IBCLC preferred or CLC with IBCLC within 6 months of hire
No Travel Required
