The DNP Pediatric Primary & Acute Nurse Practitioner (PNP) Program seeks faculty to train advanced practice registered nurses in delivering primary and acute care for children from birth to 21 years old, spanning various practice settings and institutional contexts.
The appointee shall provide services as assigned by the supervisor in furtherance of the university's missions and goals of teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.

Function/Duties of Position
Leadership And Administrative Activities
- Provides leadership in recruiting and retaining qualified faculty for designated programs by participating in search committees and supporting recruitment functions.
- Engages with community partners across the state and region to establish educational and clinical learning collaborations.
- Develops and oversees program operations in alignment with accreditation standards, APRN program requirements, and School of Nursing (SON) practices.
- Leads efforts to evaluate and improve program and student outcomes to ensure exemplary curricular effectiveness.
- Leads faculty collaboration in developing, implementing, and evaluating curriculum to maintain high standards of education.
- Participates in the budgeting process, policy development, and faculty workload assignments in collaboration with the Assistant Dean for APRN DNP programs.
- Utilizes course and program evaluation results for continuous program improvement and innovation.
- Provides ongoing development, engagement, and regular evaluation of program faculty, ensuring professional growth and high instructional standards.
- Manages program administration, including course scheduling and faculty workload assignments in consultation with the Assistant Dean for APRN DNP programs.
- Engages faculty in student recruitment, admission, retention, and progression activities.
- Coordinates resources for program delivery, collaborating with faculty and staff to ensure efficient and effective teaching and learning.
- Liaises with SON and external regulatory bodies to ensure compliance and alignment with regulatory and accreditation requirements.
- Continuously assesses and improves program delivery to meet student learning outcomes and align with SON values of integrity, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
- Monitors trends in DNP/APRN education to ensure alignment with best practices and emerging needs in healthcare education.
Curriculum And Instruction
- Collaborates in developing, implementing, evaluating, and refining curriculum from foundational graduate courses to advanced clinical practices.
- Ensures that emerging, evidence-based knowledge and clinical practices are integrated into the curriculum.
- Provides effective didactic and clinical instruction, utilizing appropriate instructional technologies to meet course and program outcomes.
- Ensures quality and rigor of program outcomes and DNP scholarly projects.
- Guides and monitors student learning experiences, assessments, and engagement in both didactic and clinical settings.
- Mentor students, providing advising and career guidance following SON academic policies.
- Ensures the professional formation of students and contributes to their academic success through regular reviews and evaluations.
Academic And Community Service
- Maintains an active network of national, regional, and local professional contacts to inform program direction and development.
- Participates in professional activities, scholarly inquiry, and research initiatives to contribute to advancing clinical practice.
- Engages in faculty governance and committee membership, providing leadership in SON, University, and external professional organizations.
- Supports and engages in the promotion and tenure process through ongoing scholarly and service contributions.
Other Responsibilities
- Provides services as assigned by the supervisor to support the university’s mission in teaching, research, patient care, outreach, and public service.
Required Qualifications
Education ( Degree dependent on academic program type and rank of position.):
- Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, Professor: PhD/DNP or equivalent
Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses (Current licensure & certifications could be required depending on position and academic program.) :
- Oregon RN license
- Oregon APRN license
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Other: National certification demonstrating specialty expertise
Experience ( Experience dependent on academic program type and rank of position.) :
- 2 years of clinical practice experience required
