Overview
Reports to and serves as primary assistant to the Nurse Manager in the coordination/management of patient care and the organizing, planning, directing, and evaluating of services provided with a core focus on facility and associated departments. Provides leadership, direction and mentorship/support to the staffing needs for the designated specialty area(s). As a Clinical Expert, ensures the provision of clinically competent services by validating staff competency in the provision of a comprehensive range of services/care in accordance with standards of excellence, age-specific and cultural sensitivity established by Riverside Health System and facility goals and strategic plans.

Completes accurate staff evaluations in a timely manner. Promotes satisfactory staff retention and is competent in labor relations matters. Seeks guidance from Manager and HR in sensitive or complicated matters.
Responsible for demonstrating the Riverside Care Difference behaviors. Leaders ensure accountability for positive customer experience. Sets and maintains high standards for service. Demonstrates care commitments in all interactions. Anticipates and adapts to customer needs to enhance their experience.

Seeks to provide the best quality care/service within the department(s).
Demonstrates responsibility and engagement by completing leadership requirements on time. Meets department and system deadlines (i.e. deadlines for budget process, evaluation process, etc.). Makes and keeps commitments.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelors Degree, Nursing (Required)

Experience

2 years Registered Nurse experience in hospital setting (Preferred)

Licenses and Certifications

Registered Nurse (RN) - Virginia Department of Health Professions (VDHP) or licensed in a compact state (Required) and
CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Required) and
ACLS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) For PACU, ACLS is required within 90 days (Preferred) and
PALS Provider - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) (Preferred)
Specialty Nursing Certification (e.g. CNOR, CEN, CMSRN, etc.) Upon Hire (Preferred)
