Job Summary

The UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center (HDFCCC) is seeking a Cancer Immunotherapy Program (CIP) Research Nurse to perform research-related patient care functions in both the inpatient/outpatient settings. In addition, the CIP Research Nurse will be a resource for patients to provide continuity of care as the research patient transitions from the inpatient to outpatient setting, as well as a resource to nurses across the inpatient and outpatient settings providing care for these patients.

Utilizes the nursing process for assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation to provide safe, therapeutic care. Functions as a member of the interdisciplinary and nursing teams; carries out established nursing procedures and performs related duties as required; performs nursing care for patients with more complex needs with assistance and supervision. Assists with the management of patient care administered by other members of the nursing team.

The final salary and offer components are subject to additional approvals based on UC policy.

Your placement within the salary range is dependent on a number of factors including your work experience and internal equity within this position classification at UCSF. For positions that are represented by a labor union, placement within the salary range will be guided by the rules in the collective bargaining agreement.

The salary range for this position is $84.78 - $109.85 (Hourly Rate).

Required Qualifications

Minimum of five or more years of recent RN adult oncology/hematology/blood & marrow transplant or Cellular therapy experience
Minimum of three years working with clinical trials and understanding of basic concepts of Phase 1 and 2 studies
Minimum of three years’ experience in administering chemotherapy/cellular therapies and/or experimental medications
Successful completion of HIPAA, Human Subjects Training, and GCP training within the first three months of onboarding
Demonstrates observational skills and the ability to set priorities. Ability to function independently and effectively with shifting priorities and considerable pressure
Ability to delegate tasks in a style that is consistent with promoting leadership and teamwork, seeking assistance as needed, ability to demonstrate leadership experience that supports teamwork, professionalism, high-quality patient experiences, evidence-based clinical practice, or other relevant topics
Demonstrated ability to remain current in professional and technical knowledge and apply this to the job, look for opportunities for continual improvement in patient care delivery and the work environment, and have a commitment to lifelong learning in the field of nursing
This position required flexibility to orient and work at all UCSF Health locations

Preferred Qualifications

OCN or BMTCN specialty certification
BSN or Master’s Degree in Nursing or relevant area

License/Certification

Active Registered Nurse licensure in the State of California
Active American Heart Association CPR Certification
Current Chemotherapy/Immunotherapy ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Provider Card
