Job Overview
The Surgical Technologist performs all scrub duties for surgical procedures and functions as an integral member of the surgical team. Prepares and maintains supplies, instruments and equipment related to these procedures. Supports the philosophy, objectives and goals of the hospital, participates in quality improvement activities and reports to the Director of Surgical Services. The schedule for this position is four (4) ten (10) hour days, 7am-5:30pm.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently scrub surgical procedures, maintaining an organized sterile field.
- Efficiently pass sterile instrumentation to physicians & assistants during surgical OR procedures.Assist nurses & surgical staff with all necessary patient care activities.Prepare and maintain supplies, instruments, equipment and rooms for surgical procedures.Properly decontaminate all surgical instrumentation utilized in procedures, according to regulatory requirements.Orient, instruct, and train assigned personnel.

Prior experience with sterile technique, infection control, sterilization and disinfection procedures
