Job Summary and Qualifications

The RN demonstrates independence in planning, organizing, administering, and evaluating patient care in accordance with the NH Nurse Practice Act, recognized nursing techniques, clinical and administrative policies.

Provide patient and family education and discharge planning.
Recognize and respond to changes in a patient’s condition.
Provide assessment and care of the pre-op, phase II recovery, anesthesia block, bariatric and outpatient procedural patients.
Demonstrate knowledge of normal anatomy and physiology for child, adolescent, adult and geriatric patient
Provide safe medication administration including use of venous access devises.
Demonstrates proficiency in IV insertion.
Assists physician with outpatient procedures using aseptic technique.
Utilizes all computer systems required for job function

What qualifications you will need:

Registered Nurse license in NH or compact Registered Nurse license
Associate Degree in Nursing

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date

Situated in Portsmouth, NH, Portsmouth Regional Hospital is a premier 234-bed acute care facility that offers exceptional healthcare services to the Seacoast region of Massachusetts, Maine, and New Hampshire. This hospital is the sole ACS Verified Level II Trauma Center on the Seacoast of New Hampshire, making it an essential resource for the community. It boasts the regions only comprehensive heart and vascular program, along with 24/7 comprehensive neurosurgical and stroke clot retrieval programs for both hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes. Portsmouth Regional Hospital is owned by HCA Healthcare, a respected healthcare provider that runs three hospitals, an ambulatory surgery center, two freestanding emergency rooms, an urgent care center, and 46 physician practices in New Hampshire.
