Job Summary and Qualifications

The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care. In collaboration with medical providers, the RN provides pre-operative and post-operative nursing care. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.

Progressive care is one of the fastest-growing nursing specialties. Progressive care RNs care for acutely ill patients who are not in an ICU, but have complex health care needs.

About this unit:

24 Bed unit where the RNs take pride in their work
Working in a fast-paced, passionate, team-oriented environment, surrounded by critical thinkers.
Variety of patients including Trauma, Stroke, Cardiac, Critical Care and more.

What you will do in this role:

Assess patient condition during admission and during each shift, identifying and reporting any changes in patient status.
Perform procedures or other functions as ordered by the medical provider.
Document the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
Perform the administration of prescribed medications and monitors response.
Maintain a knowledge of medications, procedures, and equipment used in the care of cardiac and medical-surgical patients.

What qualifications you will need:

Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date
Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

This includes womens services offering obstetrics and fertility, an emergency room, and a trauma center. We offer a Stroke Center, a walk-in clinic, and orthopedics across three Kansas City locations. Research Psychiatric Center is a 95+ bed facility. We offer acute inpatient, day treatment, and community-based outpatient behavioral healthcare. We treat adolescents, adults, and senior adults for emotional disorders, mental illness, and substance abuse. Our professional staff includes psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and licensed professional counselors.
