Health First Careers is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team in the Med Surg department at our Cocoa Beach location in Brevard County, Florida.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing quality patient care and support to our Med Surg patients. You will work closely with our nursing staff to assist with daily tasks and provide comfort and assistance to patients during their stay.

Responsibilities:

- Assist patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and eating

- Monitor and record patient vital signs

- Assist with patient transfers and mobility

- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients

- Maintain a clean and safe patient environment

- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members

Requirements:

- Active CNA certification in the state of Florida

- High school diploma or equivalent

- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to work well in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

- Compassionate and patient-focused attitude

- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays

Work Experience

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education:
Currently holds a Florida certificate as a Nursing Assistant,
Or, has completed a Nursing Assistant course and is scheduled to take the Florida State exam, and will obtain certification within four months (120 days) from date of hire,
or Currently holds a Nursing Assistant license in another U.S. state and is seeking Florida licensure and will obtain Certification within four months (120 days) of hire.
Certification:
American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider upon hire and maintain certification.
Experience:
Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
Must meet unit-specific care requirements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must be able to speak/understand written and verbal instructions in the English language.
Proficient in computer software applications.
Ability to work in often stressful environment with patients/families at various ages and levels of understanding.
Ability to concentrate on multiple priority activities.
Ability to respond appropriately in life threatening situations.
Ability to think critically to solve problems or escalate for assistance.
Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
