Job Summary

The Department of Nursing at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full-time TH Assistant Director of Nursing, NS32 Labor & Delivery. The successful candidate will:

Be responsible for the 24/7 clinical and administrative operations for labor delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery.
Demonstrate accountability for the operations of the department efficiently and effectively.
Use the analytical nursing process framework to create and maintain an environment that facilitates the delivery of high-quality quality, safe, and compassionate patient care in a healthy, satisfying work environment for staff.
Coordinate and integrate activities to operationalize the mission and vision of UHD and the nursing department in the patient care areas.
Demonstrate the ability to collaborate and be flexible to perform other related job duties as required and/or as business need warrants.

Required Qualifications

New York State Registered Nurse License.
Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing.
Master of Science Degree in Nursing or related field.
3 to 5 years of active, relevant clinical experience.
Progressive leadership accomplishment in nursing.
Current BCLS certification.

Preferred Qualifications

Certification in both clinical specialty areas and in nursing administration.
Prior management or leadership experience.

Work Schedule

Monday to Friday; 8:00am to 4:00pm (Full-Time)

Salary Grade/Rank

SL-5

Salary Range

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
