We are currently seeking a full time Day Shift and/or Night Shift Registered Nurse to join our team at Hill-Finklea Detention Center located in Monck's Corner, South Carolina

About this Registered Nurse position:

The RN is responsible for providing care for and treating detainees in a correctional setting. Correctional nurses administer both routine and emergency medical care and treat acute and chronic illnesses and injuries.

Registered Nurse Education/Certifications

Graduate from a nationally accredited registered nursing program
Current RN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license
Current Basic Life Support

Job Type: Full Time

Correctional nursing experience preferred but not required
Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check

Available shift:

12 hour Shifts
7A-7P (Day Shift)
7P-7A (Night Shift)

General Duties: included but not limited to

Seeing patients for medical complaints, both acute and chronic
Performing 14-day physicals on all patients
Managing their chronic medical conditions by monitoring labs and medication efficiency
Working with the dentist to ensure that our patients oral care is addressed
Responding to medical emergencies
Working hand in hand with physicians, PA's, NP's and correctional staff who all have the same goal of optimal patient care
Excellent communication skills-verbal and written; Ability to concisely communicate situations or needs effectively with sites and GENESYS Health Corporate Managers
Computer proficiency required-email, document exchange, excel, etc.
